Chiropractic offices fall under the OSHA classification of “GENERAL INDUSTRY’
MANY states have federally approved OSHA programs that replace the federal program. If that is the case in your state, then this OSHA manual will serve as a basic start. You will need to read your state program and make any needed additions.
Remember, since state programs are approved by OSHA, they typically take precedent over federal guidelines, and therefore you MAY need to modify this program. However, since state programs are approved at the federal level, they are typically very similar, especially in the ‘general industry category’, which is what health care facilities fall under.
Having said that, many of the requirements under OSHA do NOT apply to chiropractic facilities (ex; state laws, that change requirements regarding safety for dockworkers would not create a need to change your OSHA program.)
This is a BASIC PROGRAM:
As promised, we keep our HIPAA clients updated regarding other federal requirements and when possible, help in achieving other types of compliance. Policies and procedure, done correctly, are your best protection against federal fines!
Our ongoing OSHA program annual updates and self-audits will be supported by our MMM program. MMM members will be provided the forms, policies, and updates to stay current with providing annual training, documentation, program audits or other items needed to stay current.
